Newsweek on body image

A couple of good articles in Newsweek about Tween image and anorexia.

Female beauty

Am I the only guy out there that is freaked about by some of the things women and girls do?

I like to think of myself as a connoissuer of beauty whether its the arts, music, food, everything.

But recently I find myself totally mystified by what some people consider beautiful. Anorexia and bulimia do not make you beautiful. Moderation, health, intellegence, confidence, and comfort are the keys to beauty that people have control over.

Yes, some people are more genetically endowed then others. For the record I do not think of myself a genetically endowed.

Nevertheless, beauty does not take that much effort. Health and class is all you need. Dressing trampy, dieting, and worrying about every wardrobe and pimple is a little insane an not very good for your psychology.

Moderation is the key. Dress classy (but don't obsess or live beyond your means), workout, enjoy a good book, eat healthy but enjoy yourself every now and then.

Oh and please dress your age. Nobody should dress like a prostitute. I am so tired of watching young girls dressing trampy and wearing layers of make-up.

Also a little flesh on your bones never hurt anyone. Women are supposed to have curves not sharp edges.

Imperfections make us human. They make us beautiful. Everyone's physical beauty is reflective of their mind and their soul. If you are crazy or phony it will show.
